Hoppers Crossing Football Club awarded $5000 funding from FIT Health Insurance

The Hoppers Crossing Football Club has been presented with a cheque for $5,000 from FIT Health Insurance for its support of the recently launched FIT private health insurance product – designed specifically for people into fitness and sport.
Hoppers Crossing President Greg King thanked FIT Health Insurance for not only the cheque but for their introduction of a private health insurance product tailored to the sporting industry.
“We’ve always encouraged our players to take out private health insurance to avoid substantial out of pocket expenses to the player and/or his family; we’ve seen this happen many times before when a player has an unexpected stay in hospital. It’s great that there is finally a health fund designed specifically for sports people that’s still competitive on price. Over and above this, FIT is helping community footy clubs by providing funding through an incentive based remuneration program,” said Mr King.
James Arnott, General Manager FIT Health Insurance said Hoppers Crossing Football Club were a deserving winner of the $5k.
“Private Health Insurance isn’t the sort of product that many players get excited about, most think injury just won’t happen to them. The unfortunate fact is that injuries, accidents and illness do occur and unless you have adequate coverage you could potentially be out of pocket by a significant amount of money. We’ve worked with the Hoppers Crossing Football Club to educate their players on health insurance which has helped us to achieve our goal of supporting the health of community footballers and their families.”
Mr Arnott explained that FIT Health Insurance has adopted a deliberate strategy of allocating funds it would normally spend on advertising to an incentive fund to tangibly support community football clubs. The presentation of the $5k is the first of many examples of how clubs will benefit over the coming months and years from introducing FIT Health Insurance to its players and the general football community.
Mr King “also is pleased that Hoppers Crossing Football Club is part of FIT’s VIP member club program and we encourage all our members to consider taking up private health cover with FIT to assist with their health cover”
